Copyright Policy
Diabzen is committed to fostering the open and ethical dissemination of scientific knowledge while safeguarding the rights of authors and the journal. Our copyright policy is modeled on internationally recognized standards for academic and medical publishing.
1. Author Rights and Copyright Ownership
● Authors retain copyright: Upon publication, authors generally retain the copyright of their work and grant Diabzen the right of first publication and non-exclusive publishing rights. This model aligns with best practices to empower authors while ensuring broad access to scholarly work.
● License to Publish: By submitting their manuscript, authors grant Diabzen a license to publish, distribute, archive, and display the work in any medium or format, with clear attribution of authorship.
● Open Access and Licensing: All articles in Diabzen are published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC or CC BY-NC-ND), permitting non-commercial use, sharing, distribution, and reproduction as long as the original work is properly cited. For any commercial use, written permission from the journal is required.
2. Responsibilities and Permissions
● Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished works, not under consideration elsewhere, and must not infringe on any existing copyright or intellectual property rights.
● Use of Third-Party Material: Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission for any third-party material (such as figures, tables, images, or large data sets) not originally created by them.
● Citations: Proper attribution must be provided for any reused content. Short extracts used for criticism or review may be permissible under fair use, but extensive materials require explicit written permission.
3. Author Reuse and Sharing
● Non-Commercial Use: Authors may archive, share, and distribute their published work (with proper citation to Diabzen) for educational or research purposes, in repositories, thesis, and presentations.
● Commercial Use: For commercial exploitation, adaptation, or derivative works, prior written consent from Diabzen is mandatory.
● Self-Archiving: Authors are encouraged to deposit accepted or published versions of their articles in institutional repositories (Green OA) according to the license terms.
4. Journal Rights
● Publishing Rights: Diabzen reserves the right to edit, disseminate, and archive all published content in electronic, print, or other future formats, maintaining the record of scholarly communication.
● Attribution: All uses of Diabzen-published material must credit the original authors and the journal as the source.
5. Violation and Appeals
● Infringement: Any detected copyright violation or ethical misconduct will result in withdrawal of the affected manuscript, retraction of the published article, and notification to the author’s institution as per international academic norms.
● Appeal Process: Authors may appeal editorial decisions regarding copyright disputes, which will be reviewed by the editorial board according to ethical standards.
By submitting to Diabzen, all authors acknowledge and agree to abide by these copyright and licensing terms in the spirit of advancing open, collaborative, and responsible scientific communication.
