Author Guidelines

Scope and Article Types

Diabzen welcomes original research, reviews, case reports and series, short communications, innovations in technology, commentaries, news, perspectives, and correspondence relevant to cardio-diabetes-renal medicine and technology. Submissions must be original, unpublished work not under review elsewhere.

Manuscript Preparation

General Formatting

      Language: Manuscripts must be written in English (American or British, but consistent). Use clear, concise language and proper grammar.

      File Format: Submit in Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf) or PDF format.

      Length: There are no strict page limits, but typical maximums are as follows:

      Original Research: 7,000 words

      Review: 2,000–10,000 words

      Case Report: 1,500 words

      Short Communication: 1,500 words

      Perspectives/Commentary: 2,000–3,000 words

      Font and Spacing: Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12pt), double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins.

      Title: Should be short, specific, and concise. Titles must NOT be in all capital letters.

Sections and Structure

Typical sections for original research:

  1. Title Page

      Full title and running title (≤15 words)

      All author names and affiliations (numeric superscripts for affiliations)

      Corresponding author marked with *, with contact details and email

  1. Abstract

      ≤300 words; structured for original research (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion)

      6–10 keywords beneath the abstract

  1. Main Text

      For original research: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion

      For reviews: Introduction, main thematic sections, Conclusion

  1. Tables/Figures

      Cited in the text and included as separate files or at the end of the manuscript (high-resolution: JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, or EPS, ≥300dpi)

      Each must have a legend/caption

  1. Conflict of Interest, Funding, and Acknowledgments

      Clearly state any conflicts, funding sources, and acknowledgments in separate sections

  1. References

      Include all references cited, in the journal's preferred style (e.g., Vancouver, APA; check journal homepage for format)

      Use recent, relevant sources

Ethics and Compliance

      Ethics Approval: Research involving humans or animals must include a statement of ethics approval by an official committee with the reference number, as appropriate.

      Informed Consent: Indicate informed consent was obtained for studies involving patients or patient data, or describe waivers granted.

      Competing Interests: All authors must clearly state conflicts of interest or include a statement declaring none exist.

      Funding Disclosure: State grant provider(s), grant numbers, or funding status.

      Author Contributions: Outline each author’s contributions to the work.

      Permissions: Secure and provide permissions for any third-party content, data, figures, or images.

Submission Process

      Submit your manuscript via the Diabzen online submission portal (see website for the link).

      All submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

      A double-blind review process is followed (remove all identifying information from main text for review copies).

      Manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism and adherence to ethical standards.

Additional Notes

      Supplementary Material: May be submitted and will be published at the editors’ discretion. Include a description and reference in the main text.

      Data Availability: For studies with data, provide a statement on data availability and, where possible, a link to repositories.

      Blind Review: Ensure the main document does not contain authors’ names, affiliations, or identifying information.

      Writing Style: Use standard nomenclature and define abbreviations at first use. Acronyms should be minimized and explained.
